The discrimination of disabled people is omnipresent in the society. Even in civilized countries, it still manifests on many levels, e.g., low presence and representation in the media (movies and TV shows), poorly accessible infrastructure and transportations means. In underdeveloped countries, the situation is much more dramatic. Such a person may not even be able to read, because s/he would not get access to any education, out of sheer carelessness. In other contexts, a device with Internet access is not a commodity, but a luxury item. To understand discrimination as a phenomenon and know how to deal with it, you should:

• Read literature on disabled people, such as, what it means to be an emancipated disabled person. Only through reading about what kind of prejudices are out there against disabled people, you can learn to observe subtle forms of discrimination that most people are not even aware they employ; even some disabled people do not notice them.
• Know your human rights, and the associated international treaties and laws that apply irrespective of disabilities in any of the signatory countries.
• Know the local laws and rights. Look for them on the official sites of the government of the country or state you live in.
• Learn, be curious, be determinate and be assertive. Discrimination prevails because of ignorance, our ignorance as well.
• Try to engage other people to help you fight against discrimination.

Most likely, if you are a disabled person, no one will bother to tell you what rights you have, e.g., a disability pension or free tickets to public concerts. You might not be informed even when you are entitled to specific services for your condition. You need to know your rights and demand their implementation, according to each social context you find yourself in. Be assertive and not obedient or compliant. For example, do not accept being refused to get a free ticket, if there is a law stating you are entitled to it.

Whenever you can, ask to talk with the superior authority, to get clear and well-documented explanations as to why you are denied what you know for sure the law entitles you to. It often happens that the people selling something or providing a service are not aware of the relevant legislation for their workplace. Name the laws and be precise, speak eloquently. Print or save on your smartphone the relevant sections to have them at hand, in case you have to be even more persuasive.

Voice your concerns and make people aware of how and when you are being discriminated. Denounce every form of social or institutional discrimination you face. Do it on social networks as well. Make yourself heard. Be vocal! Otherwise, we cannot raise awareness on the issues disabled people face. Sympathize with other communities of disabled people, not just with the one you are a part of. We all must act united in our causes.

Try to engage your friends or, at least, your family to support you in your endeavors. When you interact with the local authorities, you might need help or assistance. Entice your representative(s) to refuse any form of discrimination on your behalf, to be persistent and strong on his or her position, to fight for inclusion. If you know a particular law should apply in your case as well, but you are denied, explain it to your family members. They should be your strongest allies against discrimination and in the fight for emancipation.

Friends or acquaintances that discriminate against you should be avoided entirely. If you are discriminated in less obvious ways, explain it to them, make them aware of it. Denounce discrimination, even when it happens in your family.

When you go out in public, if people suddenly insult you or attempt to bully you, answer with ignorance. Do not stop from your ride, move on. Take these things lightly. Refuse the people that want to pray or give you "the good news", and even those who want to give you money. Show people you have a spine.

And be courageus! Go out whenever possible. Let people see disabled people exist out there in the world.

For the past year, I've started again to write poems in Romanian. I decided to have them all published sometime in the future as an e-book. Throughout the past summer I worked on this project.

In August, last year, in the midsts of multiple personal issues (cancer and an amputation intervention), I decided I want to write something about the health care of EB people and about being a disabled person.

On the 1st of February 2014, I began to write about life from my perspective, as a disabled person. The result is an e-book that covers a broad spectrum of topics: health care, education, childhood, parenting, adulthood, life, death, sexuality and a lot more. My intent with this e-book is to allow people to understand better disabled people: how they might perceive different aspects of their existence, their needs and wants. Very few disabled people, in my opinion, actually write or talk about sensitive topics that are of interest to them. The e-book is written mainly from the perspective of a physically disabled person, because I am one, and it is based on my limited understanding of life and my observations and experiences. Please do not have high expectations about it. I did not intend to make an academic paper. However, I hope you will appreciate my modest contribution to the community of disabled people, along with the Propaganda images.

În ultima vreme am ascultat muzică hip-hop și am fost inspirat de această muzică să realizez o poezie care se bazează pe acest stil muzical.

Poezia realizată de mine are la bază versurile melodiei "Mesaj pentru Europa" de Paraziții. Am încercat să mențin limbajul colorat și strident, vulgar și direct. Coincidențele cu realitatea sunt neintenționate. Din fericire, nu cunosc pe nimeni care să facă parte din categoriile amintite în poezie (sarcasm). Tot ceea ce prezint trebuie considerat ca pură ficțiune dintr-un univers paralel.

Scopul acestei poezii este să atragă atenția asupra unor posibile probleme sociale și asupra unor teme mai puțin dezbătute. NU intenționez să jignesc sau să lezez nici o ființă de pe Terra. Doresc să evidențiez că persoanele cu dizabilități au aceleași frământări ca voi.

Atenție: Nu citiți dacă sunteți ofensat de limbaj vulgar.

Mesaj pentru Preafericiți:

Nu suntem handicapați,
Nu stăm să frecăm mentă.
Facem eforturi
Să ne elevăm
Și nu ne plângem
Că suntem în condiții dificile.
Noi nu cerșim cu handicapul la vedere,
Să facem avere,
Și nici nu ne place să vă holbați la noi
Ca la extratereștrii când ieșim în lume.

Noi nu suntem leneși
Și nici lași, luptăm,
Nu facem eforturi ca să obținem de la voi ajutoare.
A voastră e vina că noi nu ne putem emancipa
Că ne discriminați de-mi sare voma.
Să îmi bag p**a de-o să găsiți
O persoană cu dizabilități făcând rău cuiva!

Noi suntem marginalizați de la naștere,
Zi de zi, arătați cu degetul și evitați
De orice nătărău sau curvă, fără discernământ!

Avem părinți eroi care se luptă pentru noi,
Muncesc în grabă toată ziua
Și un lucru e sigur:
Ni se cultivă dorința de a reuși-n viață...
... cu ajutorul lor,
Fiindcă a lor iubire sufocantă
Nu percepe că noi putem
Să ne descurcăm în junglă și fără ei.

Ne confruntăm cu legi noi
Date de boi,
Pentru integrarea persoanelor cu dizabilități.
Rampe, lifturi,
Tramvaie sau taxiuri accesibile,
Toate par povești, promisiuni deșarte.
Preafericiții nu le implementează
Ci dansează cu noi un vals amețitor,
În bătaie de joc!

Mă piș pe curvele preanefericite!
Și nu-i normal
Ca noi să fim discriminați și de voi.
P**a noastră vă caută cu lumânarea!
Și nu-i normal
Să fim privați și de acest drog.
Parcă-n ciuda noastră,
Vă vedem cum vă lingeți în gură ostentativ pe stradă.
E la modă la cei ”sănătoși” să fie toleranți,
Dar nu fac nimic să ne integreze
În societate, în sexualitate, în administrație
Sau pe piața muncii.
Vă putem trimite la dracu pe toți, fain frumos!

Dacă suntem cu dizabilități
Și poate arătăm ca dracu
Nu înseamnă că suntem ruda săracă.
Deci nu mai aruncați cu bani în noi
Pe stradă, filarmonică, teatru sau la bar
Că nu suntem maneliști, morți-mătii de infecțioși!

Mesaj pentru Preafericiți:
Noi nu putem fi ca voi, dar voi ca noi da!

Zeloșii prostestanți formează cârnați în ușă,
"Lumina" lor să o împărtășească.
Oameni în suferință vă cad pradă, rând pe rând.
N-avem nevoie de trufia voastră
Și nici de principiile discriminatorii pe care le vindeți..
Băga-mi-aș p**a în "lumina" voastră de căcat
Și-n curvele, pardon, fetele din bisericile porcăite.
Socializarea cu fanatici
Dăunează grav sănătății.

Putem face facultăți
Și să dăm pe cărți ultimul ban
Că să nu fim vreodată gunoieri.
Să avem un scop în viață ca tot omul civilizat.
Putem vorbi trei limbi și putem să vă conducem,
Dar voi trăiți doar în aparențe, preafrumoșilor.

Forțăm uși închise,
Trăim cu vise nepermise
Și ne dorim să muncim,
Dar pumnul în gură ni-l băgați:
Prejudecăți și dogme,
Legi, boi și smintiți în cale stau!

Bagă la cap repede,
Crede-ne,
Noi nu suntem legume,
Ne respectăm, ne rezolvăm singuri problemele
Și nu suntem o specie inferioară.

Javrele și curvele
În Parlament și-n Biserică vă satisfac,
Rând pe rând sau în grup?
Iar noi, avem rolul să vă inhalăm beșinile,
Spectatori la teatrul vostru de catifea.
Da' pe dracu! Decapitarea!

Mulți dintre noi,
Victimele societății,
Trăim în scârbă
Și e adevărat că suntem praf și pulbere psihic,
Căci e mai ușor să menții sub călcâi o minoritate fără vlagă.
Banii pentru integrarea noastră socială de la UE
Dispar în pile și p**de,
În campanii diafane
Și asociații inactive
Care au rolul să dezbine...

Cu voi fac sex în draci
Fufele și pițipoancele,
Cu noi-și exersează abilitățile:
Sucitul minților, vorbele amăgitoare,
Flirturi în gol,
Rămânem doar futuți la cap.
Când e vorba de ceva pe bune,
Ca dracu de tămâie se feresc de noi.
D-avem boașe și cerem o muie,
Printre lacrimi de feline
Aflăm că sunt actrițe:
"Vai de mine! Noi suntem amici,
Te iubesc ca pe un frate"
Să vă f*tă dracu-n gură d-așa ”surori” !

Mesaj pentru Preafericiți:
Noi nu putem fi ca voi, dar voi ca noi da!

Vănzătorii de himere vânează
Bani-n plus de pe pielea noastră:
Alifii sau ceaiuri, suplimente sau pietre magice,
Religii, culte sau in-culte,
Consumerism existențial pentru oameni slabi.
Toți pretind că vin-n ajutor.
În mormânt ajungi de le dai crezare șarlatanilor.
Voi ar trebui să fiți victimele din "Pădurea spânzuraților"!

Iar acum, pe final, vă spun că
Adevărata subspecie sunteți voi, paria,
Cei ce faceți copii cu handicap,
Prin tomberoane, după colțuri, în ghetouri.
Vă treziți cu copii peste noapte, terminați
De mizerile ce le băgați în voi:
Droguri, alcool sau fum.
Pentru alocații, voi faceți legume,
Din prostie v-o trageți pe bandă rulantă.
Și generați suferință-n lume.
Educația lor este ultima grijă.
Sunteți criminali cu mască de oameni.
Vă ascundeți copiii în casă,
Izolați la TV,
Rușinea vă roade dacă-i scoateți-n lume,
Îi țineți departe de societate, de lumină.
Maneliști și țigani împuțiți ce fiți,
Ar trebui să fiți eradicați
Fără drept de revocare.

Sunt inofensiv,
Dar gândul meu e criminal...

In April, this year, I made multiple images with the purpose to raise awareness on some topics that are more or less taboo in my social circles. I am focused mostly on topics that concern disabled people. Please share, copy, steal, promote, redistribute or remix them. Do not ask for my permission. Just do so. :)

I decided to make these images as t-shirt designs, because I want to suggest that such messages should be worn by people in public places. By wearing t-shirts in public places, the messages are distributed much more better. Making simple images on the Internet, for people to distribute, is not really effective. But wearing t-shirts or clothes with messages that draw attention are much more effective. The messages I deliver with these designs are simple and draw attention immediately. It is also about identifying yourself with the message on the clothes you wear. The people who see a person wearing a cloth with a certain message, quickly associate the given person with the message and consider him as supportive or in agreement with the message. Few people out there would wear clothes with messages that they do not agree with. Wearing clothes with the messages I propose here would show awareness, support and acceptance of the disabled people by those who would wear such messages, and also contribute to the spread of this acceptance.
